Moving On ~ Moving Forward
– Philippians 3:13-14 (NIV)
Sometimes, I find myself questioning my decisions and actions. “What if I made the wrong choice?” “What if I did this differently?” “What if I should have went there instead of here?” But, all the “what if’s” started to get to me.
Spending time and dwelling on the “what if’s” is a trap. It is a waste of time and it drains you of mental, emotional, and even spiritual energy. Yes, we should certainly take time to evaluate our decisions if we didn’t get the expected outcome so that we can learn from it and move on. However, we shouldn’t get caught up dwelling on the “should have”, “would have” or “could have” when you still have a greater purpose and greater things to accomplish.
In order to be successful at any goal that you have set out for yourself to achieve, you have to keep moving. If you stumble a little by making a wrong decision, get up and keep moving forward. You’ve got a prize to win!
ACTION ITEM: This week, take time to dust off your vision board. Don’t have one? Well, take some time to create one; it’s rather simple and inexpensive to create! A vision board is a visual tool that you create for the purpose of staying focused on your vision. It’s a visual picture of what you want to achieve and how you want your life to look like – simply cut out pictures from old magazines and newspapers and glue it on a piece of poster board. You can write or print out affirmations or words of inspiration to add to your vision board as well. Place your vision board where you can see it daily so that you can speak those words of affirmation and inspiration to yourself on a regular basis. It will also keep you focused and encouraged (especially when you are in a rut).
