“Order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me.”
– Psalm 119:133
When I come into a new year, I always question my purpose and if I am walking according to God’s will for my life. One saying that I often pray is “order my steps, Lord”. However, it wasn’t until I looked up this scripture last night, that I noticed that the scripture is actually two-fold.
I will be the first to admit that many times I look for scriptures that are uplifting and encouraging or just become swept away by verses of songs that make me feel better. Yet, many times, there are conditions attached to these scripture that we often overlook OR that don’t make it into the popular song lyrics. We often get caught up in messages of prosperity and blessings…yet, we don’t fully embrace a relationship with the One who holds the world in His hands and can bless us with more than we can ever imagine.
As we continue into 2019, we should seek the Lord’s guidance, direction, and alignment of our lives with the purpose that He has for us. BUT, we also have to realize that if we want to live a purpose-driven and destiny-fulfilling life, we CAN NOT allow iniquity or sin to have dominion over us.
It’s a SIMPLE CHOICE really and I choose to be fully aligned with the One who has the power to open doors of prosperity and blessings and shut doors that need to be shut. How about you? Will this be the year that you fully embrace and walk in your purpose?
