Sweeten Up Your Day

““Kind words are like honey— sweet to the soul and healthy for the body.

– Proverbs 16:24

In this proverb, King Solomon related kindness to honey.  Honey is not only a natural sweetener, but it also has many healing properties.  It’s antibacterial properties can heal wounds and it can also soothe a sore, scratchy throat.  Speaking a kind word will not only brighten up someone’s day, it also has the power to heal and uplift a broken spirit.

So many times, we are programmed to grumble and complain, which not only drains you, but it’s also draining to the others who are around you.   If this sounds like you, try a different approach and add a little sweetness to your day by speaking kindness to yourself and to others you meet!

_You look great today!_

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK: Without some sort of sweetener, a cake wouldn’t taste so great.  Such is life – without God, kindness, love, charity – life would be bitter.  Be a genuine (no artificial sweetener, please), kind, loving, and charitable person who exemplifies Jesus Christ daily! Not only will you bless those who come in contact with you, but you will be blessed also!

ACTION ITEM: Do you know someone who could use a little bit of encouragement? Take time this week, to send a “Thinking of You” card to someone who may need a little kindness. Or, make an effort to say something kind to that co-worker that you usually avoid. Or, for each person in your household, notice something special about them and give them a compliment!

“Kind words are like honey— sweet to the soul and healthy for the body.”
