Staying Focused

“Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you.

– Proverbs 4:25 (ESV)

I’m guilty! For more than nineteen years, I have chased after titles and promotions…only to be stressed to the point where it impacted my health at times. I put aside my passion and dreams in exchange for more money. I lost my focus.

Does this sound like you too? So many times, out of fear, ill-guided ambition, and even jealousy, we lose focus of what should be our top priorities – Jesus, the Kingdom, and our family. Jesus asked His disciples, “And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than your soul?” – Matthew 16:26

Living for Jesus Christ is definitely worth more to me! Loving and leading people to Jesus Christ is definitely worth more to me! My family is definitely worth more to me – I want to be the best wife and mom!

So, I am shifting my focus to what’s more important and to what’s more valuable! How about you?

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK: One definition of FOCUS is a “central point of attention.” When you focus on what’s important, the background gets blurry because it’s no longer demanding your attention. Don’t put Jesus or your family in the background – they should always be the central point of your attention.

ACTION ITEM: Disconnect from electronics during meals with your family. Focus on having a genuine conversation without any distractions.
