The Storm Will Pass

“When the storm has swept by, the wicked are gone, but the righteous stand firm forever.

– Proverbs 10:25 (NIV)

The Weather forecast is 100% chance of a severe thunderstorm. The rain pours, the lightening flashes and the thunder rolls. But, after a while, the clouds break, the Sun peaks through, and there is a calm in the air.

Many times in our life, we are faced with a storm that seems to come out of nowhere. It seems like we are drenched by troubles on our job, in our relationships, and issues at home. Then, more despair hits us when we aren’t even looking and it seems like we just can’t take it anymore. BUT, aren’t you glad that Jesus Christ is there to break up those clouds and shine through.

You are only going through the storm season – it is just a season, a moment in time. As a Child of God, when you are in the middle of a storm, stand firm on God’s promises. Yes, the wind may make us sway a little, but keep your feet planted in the Word of God. Have faith that the SON is going to break through and calm the storm. Remember, a storm doesn’t last forever!

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK: One definition of STAND is “an attitude toward a particular issue.” When I first read Proverbs 10:25, I thought of being rooted and grounded like a tree, which is important when you are going through test and trails. BUT, even more important is the ATTITUDE that you take. When you are going through the storm, it’s important to remain POSITIVE and be CONFIDENT in Jesus Christ. When people see you, they are going to see a WINNER – not just someone who endured the storm, but someone who was optimistic and confident through it all!
