My typical morning breakfast is usually a smoothie or two boiled eggs with coffee because I’m usually eating on my way to work. Since I worked from home the other morning, I decided to experiment with oatmeal. Experiment successful!
Oh my gosh, it was the creamiest, most decadent bowl of oatmeal I have ever had. Seriously! From the moment I smelled the oats cooking in the microwave, I knew it was going to be delicious. I used Bob’s Red Mill Gluten Free Rolled Oats. It has a single ingredient – whole grain oats. No added sugar or preservatives.
I then added nonfat greek yogurt for protein and probiotics and some strawberries. I also added a tablespoon of chia seeds for added fiber and omega-3s. Waalaa – a bowl full of nutrient-dense deliciousness!
Now, I’m going to go and pick up some mason jars so that I can prepare my ingredients at night and enjoy overnight oats in the morning! I can’t wait to experiment with new flavors!
